December, 2011
One of the requirements to graduate from my video production class was to complete my video resume. March, 2011 Long Beach Grand Prix 2010 Got GoDaddy girl Danica Patrick in action at the Long Beach Grand Prix. Miriam, Nicolas and I headed out to Hawaii for a week. It was my first time and boy, a week was not long enough. Beautiful weather clear blue/green ocean. Tuesday, June 6, 2009 How time flies. Miriam and I have been up to a lot of things and I haven't been updating my blog as I should. We have been kayaking all over the place and the last time was at La Jolla. Miriam got us a room at the Marriott and we stayed in La Jolla for the weekend. We have done a lot of biking, camping in my R/V and some flying. I have done a lot of photo shoots and reviews for a couple of magazines that helps on the gas. I did however manage to land a great full time job and actually make good money outside the hobby industry. The picture above is of my new Funtana. It is a blast to fly. Here is Miriam looking out her back door. She needed a picture of herself to put in a local newsletter that she puts together. On June 6th, Miriam and I saw the Dirty Dancing play at the Pantages Theater in Hollywood. It was great but you can't beat the Phantom of the Opera Miriam ! Here is one sample of what my reviews look like in the magazines. It's a lot of work but its fun and I get paid to do it........ They almost look the same size but the red one is a mini electric while the blue one is much bigger and uses a YS 50 ST glow fuel motor. For my birthday, Miriam got me tickets to see the NASCAR race in Fontana, CA. It was a great race we also had Pit Passes. Jeff Gordon "Miriam's" favourite driver, bumped the wall and scratched up the quarter panel a little. He came in 2nd. Matt Kenseth won the race. It took almost two years but my sisters house is almost done. I helped her drive from Washington with all the kids for a This year at the London Bridge Float Fly Classic, I covered the event for Model Airplane News. The article should be in the March issue. Dave Sullivan with his DA-100 1/3 scale Piper Cub. On our trip to Lake Havasu, Miriam and I stopped in Oatman, AZ for the day. The Oatman Gang in action after robbing the local ATM. LOL Nico is working on his new Revell Model of a B-17. His first model was a P-51 Mustang. My Corsair, on the right. A lot of detail work. Almost done, just waiting on a few more parts to come in. Here is what came out of the box of my new Furion 450 helicopter. I will be building it shortly for an article in R/C Helicopter magazine published by Airage Media. It is my first electric heli and the smallest one as well. Yep, wine country. It was Jenny's 40th birthday and we all had a blast going on the wine tour. We visited 4 wineries during the day and had a great dinner at the Level 4 restaurant there in Paso Robles. John is showing his wife Riita, how big of a bottle of wine he wants. Nina's boyfriend with his rock band Stranger Things. They were a big hit at the Key Club and with us. Miriam, Cynthia and I drove out to see them play for the first time. This was Miriam's old stomping grounds back in her high school days. Well, we are not that young anymore and yes we did pay for staying out late the next day......LOL. Oh ya, Sudwyn is the singer. Check them out at http://www.strangerthingsband.com Newport Dunes RV Resort had a great fireworks show this year. Miriam and I rode our bikes to the event from her sister's house which is just down the street. If you want variety when kayaking, La Jolla is the place to go. We arrived early morning and spent the day kayaking, snorkeling, swimming and lying on the beach. Exploring the sea caves was just half the fun. Garibaldi fish, seals and Miriam even saw a dolphin checking us out. My daughter graduating from collage. Wow, she's all grown up. Congratulations Heather, now can we spend more time together! Every other month, my friends and I get together for a dinner and fun. This time it was my turn and I was able to get everyone out to the beach. We camped at Newport Dunes Resort and reserved a beach front site for the weekend. On Saturday, everyone showed up for a full day of fun and a great dinner. We got back from Zion on Wednesday and on Thursday, Miriam and I saw the Phantom of the Opera at the Orange County Performing Arts Center. I was mesmerized by the performance. Thank you Miriam. Spring Break. Miriam, Nico and I set out to see Zion N. P. for a week of R&R. It was great. Weather in the 70's and clear blue skies. The RV resort was next to the Virgin river and we would listen to it as we sat at the campfire. If you have never been to Zion, I would say go. There are many things to do and see that you can't get from a book or magazine. I finally made it to the Tour De Palm Springs this year. Max, Craig and I did the 25 mile ride as Marty and his family did the 10 mile ride. Over 10,000 riders road the event for charity. Sorry Paddles, I will take you next year. Headed out Friday to Newport for some R&R in my motor home. After we arrived, my daughter and I went out and did some kayaking. It was her first time but, after she got the hang of it, she was having a blast. Saturday came along and Miriam, Paddles and I did some biking. Only about 11 miles but it was a clear sunny day and we road around Back Bay. After over a week of rain we finally got a break and a group of us got together for some whale watching from our kayaks. As a baby whale swam within 10 feet from us we all said with a shaky voice and at the same time, "OK where’s the mommy!!!!" Just as we said that, the water got very still and flat. We looked down just in time to see her pass right under us. Wow, that was cool.

Motor Home Trip to Calico Ghost Town and Mitchell Caverns

Memorial weekend we headed out in the motor home to see Mitchell Caverns which is about 2 hours East of Barstow in the middle of nowhere. The weather was great and we had some time to visit the Calico Ghost Town. No ghost's but we had a great time looking at what and how people lived back then.

The Big Apple

My photography / graphic design business is picking up very well. So well that I replaced all of my Windows PC's with Mac equipment. The change over was not hard but did make me purchase a Snow Leopard book to help with some minor details on short cuts. It was a big investment so all my prices have gone up. LOL
